Tiny Dancer

The time has come!  We are so excited that Red has been enrolled into a pre-ballet, tap, and tumble class at a local dance school, Infiniti!  We signed up last week, and within the hour we had purchased our first pair of ballet and tap shoes with a pink tutu and matching tights!  Tiny dancer was so happy to wear her new "ball-derina stuff".  For the past few days the noise has been ratta, tat, tap, with her tap shoes, and we have been practicing pointing our toes and all of the different positions in our ballet shoes.  You have to know that I have it all on film!  I am the mom-arrazi!
Tear!  Her first time in a ballet shoe.  So precious!
Here she is in her tap shoes!  She loves to run around on the kitchen floor!  (It is okay, I am taking Advil to get through all of the tapping)!
Here she is, all done up and ready to go to dancing school!
Pure preciousness!  She is even pointing her toe!
The class was an hour long and there were only 3 little girls in the class (how on earth do they have a bigger class??  I do not know, I was nervous for the teacher with three, three year olds, but Ms. Sarah was wonderful!  I guess there is a class of 13 later in the evening!
They did some ballet for the first few minutes, then changed to tap, I think I heard some rustling of some pom poms, then they did about 20 minutes of tumbling (trampoline, balance beam, parachute, forward rolls, and chasing a hula hoop (they loved this)!

When we got into the car, Red said, "I had a real nice time".
I just laughed!  So, I guess we will continue with this activity!!
Bring on the leotards and tutus!!

There Goes Our Baby!!

This week has been so exciting for my baby sister (I know, I know, I must let this go! She is no longer a baby)!  She started high school this past week!  I just cannot get over how time is flying by!  I feel like it was just yesterday that she was born!  I was away at college (which was really only 30 minutes down the highway at the U of A), and made the drive to the hospital in the middle of the night to meet my new baby sister!  She was stubborn and decided to not come out so I went back to the dorm to sleep and she was born early that morning!  Our sweet Kathryn Grace and she has been a blessing to our family ever since that day!  This is the only picture that I could find of the tiny tot and it is on her 2nd birthday!  There she is, our girl!
Here she is now!  All grown up!  A freshman at the high school!
This girl amazes me and I cannot wait to see all of the BIG things that she will do!
I started to think about high school, and I was HORRIFIED when I did the math and saw that I entered the high school, as a sophomore (our school was 10th -12th grade was high school) 17 years ago!  I thought that was so crazy!  Seriously, I subtracted like 5 times to make sure that was right, am I really that old??  Guess so!
Anyways, the 10th grade at the BHS!
I was a scared mess!  I just knew that I would be shoved in a locker on my first day (I had seen that happen on an episode of Saved by the Bell, some bullies had done that to Screech and I just knew that I could be the new Screech (I totally had the hair))!  Good thing that never happened!
That year was going to be fun!  I would be in HIGH SCHOOL!  Ha!  I was wrong!  Little fish in the big pond, I was!  It wasn't all bad.  The older boys were super cute (and I remember them being very tall, like they were all taking the same growth hormone, THEY WEREN'T REALLY, but seriously everyone was so much taller than me and people in my class), the older girls really were not too mean, and I had some great friends that I could survive that big school with.
Here I am with some of them.  No, our school did not require us to wear uniforms, I was on the dance team and I think this was at a camp or something.  Anyways, this was the only high school photo that I could find, that I am in, and I really just copied it from someone elses facebook page (ha)!  I need to find a yearbook or something!
I am on the back row, third from the left
I started thinking that man, 1995 was ages ago.  Then I started thinking what in the world was going on back then??  Blast from the past, if you will....
Ummm, Sheryl Crow won a Grammy or something for being Best New Artist!

Wha?  I know!  Sheryl Crow was just becoming a thing!  Her "big" song was All I Wanna Do!  Ugh!  Loved that song!  Seriously, my friend Kari Jo and I would ride around in her tiny convertible car and jam out to that!
This song was the jam!
I Swear, by All For 1!
Dying!  I just knew that one day a totally cute guy, Stuart, would waltz down the hall and be serenading me with this song..... Never happened (the singing, the waltzing, or the boy)!
Can you believe it, Elton John's Can You Feel The Love Tonight was climbing the charts (and I totally think that I may have dedicated it to a boy on the Power 9 at 9 (embarrassing, I know, but I really think that I may have done that)!!
Bill Clinton was the President of the United States!  This was a super huge deal since he was from Arkansas!
FYI, I got to meet Hillary Clinton a few years later.  Adore!  She signed her book for me and shook my hand.  Yes, that is my brush with fame!
The top grossing movie that year was.......
I know!  Bruce Willis?  I was not old enough to get into it and watch it, but I am sure it was a nice movie.
But, I was old enough to get into this flick that came out in 95
Anyways, high school was fun, but o my lordy it was soooooo long ago!

Some of my most favorite friends....

Today has been full of some fun surprises.  The kids and I got up early and were dressed and out of the door before 11 this morning!  We went to my favorite shop in town, The Perfect Choice.  It is filled with everything pretty, stuff for your home, things you can wear, jewels to look dazzling in, and some of the sweetest people that I know, my Gwen and Esam!
Here we are!
I love love love these two!
My first job was working at their store.  I worked with Gwen for years, and she was like a-nutha mutha for me!  She would listen to me whine and complain, she would laugh at my jokes, and has always been such an amazing friend!  Then there is her other half, Esam.  He's sooooo sweet and funny!  He just loved on the kids today in the store and was trying to pull out every trinket/ wind up toy in the shop to entertain the tots with!
I think that it worked, by the time he left he had two new best friends!
I cannot say enough about these two and how much they mean to me.  It isn't everyday that you get to meet such great people, and then continue a friendship with them for over 10 years!  I have been blessed with wonderful friends, just thought that you (Gwen) should know that!
Love you both and you are in my prayers.

Hair shmair!! Being bald is the COOLEST!!

In the past month, my sweet sweet Bucky (Poss/ grand father) has started chemo treatments.  Well, today we got the phone call that he has started to lose his hair!  It made him a little sad, and then it made me sad that he was a little sad about it.
Please note that Bucky is not a pirate nor does he normally dress in pirate garb (boots, skull and cross bones belt buckle, patch, bandana on head).  He was kind enough to dress up as Cap'n Bucky the sweetest pirate to ever sail the oceans a blue for Sophia's 3rd birthday!
Then, I started thinking of all of the bonuses about being bald.  Let me share!
1.  Save money on shampoo and conditioners! CHA-CHING!!
2.  Think of all of the cool hats that you could be sporting?? (This would be where all of your shampoo and conditioner money would go to!)
3.  You do not even have to fix your hair!  Good-bye brushes, combs, and hair dryers!
4.  You can ride around in a convertible (top down) and not even worry about your hair being messed up!  Best day ever!!
5.  You will probably not be getting lice when your bald (and if you do, you will not have a hard time finding them)!
6.  You will not have to worry about high lights or picking out grey hairs!
7.  Say good-bye to split ends!
So, those bonus reasons for being bald are sounding good, right??
Well, still not convinced that "Bald is Beautiful" or that "Bald is the New Black" or that "All the cool kids are doing it!"... let's check out some people who wear this look o-so well!
Really, Bruce Willis!  Ummm, did you see him play John McClane in Die Hard??  I am pretty sure he fought off many terrorists and saved a whole lotta people in that high rise office building, on Christmas eve!  Note to self:  bald people are tough as nails!
Tele Savalas..... bald!  He was Kojak for pittys sake!
Vin Diesel.... NO HAIR!  He was super fast and furious in those car movies!  FYI, no body messed with Dom in those shows!
Michael Jordan.  Do you think he could have flown in the air to make a ba-jillion baskets with hair??  Ummm, I think not!
Okay, Homer Simpson.  Well....uhhhh... well.. he does not... well, he's bald too.
Lord Voldemort.  Trust me when I tell you that he was so happy when he did not have to make any more hair appointments... (he had been grey since he was in his early 20's.  Such a shame)!
Britney Spears was wanting to go bald, but she did not have the right bone structure (she could not pull it off)!  Don't worry, you have the perfect cheek bones for this look!
Dr Phil.... he has his own television show!!  Do you think that Oprah would have liked him so much if he had a head full of hair???? NOOO!

Bond, James Bond.
Sigh..... he is so dreamy..
 Sean Connery
This man needs no introduction!  He has a whole line of cleaning products (and those muscley arms)!
 The Dali Lama
I have heard he just loves being able to jump out of his bed, jerk on his clothes, and go!  He spends like zero time fixing his do!
James Carville has no hair!
 The Great Yoda
"hair I have not...mmmmm"
 Ron Howard, everyone loves Opie!
Andre Agassi, he is like a gold medalist and BALD!

Wha?  Evander Holyfield.... no one is messing with this man.  Notice nothing on top!!
Samuel L. Jackson... he made genetically enhanced sharks, fought snakes on a plane, and was using the force on an episode of Star Wars... think he coulda done all of that with super long locks???? Nope!
Now that I think about it, in that shark movie he may have had hair.  He also killed off in that movie when he was eaten by a shark, but I believe that had he been bald, that shark would have totally swam off and left him alone!  Just saying!
Long story Bucky.  Losing your hair is no biggie.  If this has to happen in order for you to kick cancers butt..... well, alrighty then!  I know you can beat this!

What are you watching?

One thing that I can tell you is that I love mindless and silly television!  After a long day of playing, cooking, and cleaning, I just really enjoy to sip on my Coca Cola, eat 2 or 3 chocolate chip cookies, and watch my shows.  These are a few that I have been sucked into!
The Week the Women Went is on Lifetime, and I think that it has only had 1 episode even air, but it is funny stuff.  This small town sends all of the women on a week long vacation and leaves the men at home with the children.  Will the men survive without them?
It makes me wonder???
What would happen if I left my children and husband at home for a week?

Now, this next show is kinda like a train wreck.  You turn it on, and then you somehow sit there stunned, so stunned and then you look at the clock and realize that 30 minutes has gone by, and you sat there and watched the WHOLE SHOW!!
Here Comes Honey Boo Boo
The picture quality is so bad!  So sorry.
The "main" show stopper is a child beauty queen (Honey Boo Boo) from the television show Toddlers and Tiaras).  This reality show follows Honey and family.  It is a silly, funny, crazy, redneck mess!   Yes, I watched it, and I think that the breakout star is that little girl's pet pig, Glitzy!
Check it out on TLC

The next shows that I follow or will start watching are also on the TLC network.  They are reality shows about "BIG" families!  The Bates and the Duggars!  I know that many people are not supportive of or mock and laugh at these families with their Christian values and their desires to have such a large family, but I really enjoy watching them.  So yes, I will be DVRing these shows for sure!
Here are the Bates and their 19 children
The Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar.

My last shows are on the Bravo channel.  I heart Bravo!
In a few weeks, my favorite crazy house flipper, Jeff Lewis is back!!  This show is Flipping Out!  The man cracks me up with his sarcastic remarks, and I love to see the end results on all of his projects, just beautiful work.
Last are my New Jersey Housewives.  OMGosh!  Is anyone watching them?
What do you think about these women?
Whose your favorite gal?  I think that I will play it safe and go with Joe Gorga!

Enough with the television stuff, need to go and whip up some dinner!

Let's Call Those HOGS!!

The time is quickly approaching!  Only 12 days until the Arkansas Razorbacks play their first game of the season!  This family is pumped about our piggies!  As you can see, we teach our kiddos early to CALL- THOSE- HOGS!!

This is normally where the children and I break out into the fight song!  Too bad I do not have that on film for you to giggle at!!
 My future Razorbacks!

 Fun time with the cousins!
