adventurin' with Annalee

Last week, my niece was out of school for her February break.  She is 9 years old and so good with the kids, they love being with her so much:-)  Every morning the kids would wake up and just wait for their girl (I would too, while she was here I could do other things like:  brush my teeth, make appointments, go to the bathroom..... Alone, cook, laundry)!  She helped me with the kids at their first dental appointment (which made me feel like as horrible momma, my Red had some cavities... Sad face), she went with me to my first dentist appointment in over 4 years (don't judge), she even helped the babies with their Valentines, helped us make surfboards out of huge pieces of cardboard, and then we would ever go on some walks at some local trails (my babies call them adventure walks!)
*Everyday Annalee went home my sweet girl was worn out and would take a nap:-)   I'm so thankful she could spend the week with us, even though we wore her out!

My Snow Bunnies!

If you live in NWA or are on FB and Twitter and friends with people that live in NWA, then you are probably aware that we got snow (at my house it was an inch, but snow is snow)!  It was all the talk on social media for our town.  People taking pictures of it snowing, the trees in their yard covered in snow, their kids inside looking out the window at the snow, a car in the snow filled ditch.... Ya understand! People love to show their pictures, and people I lo-urve to look at your pictures!  Anywho, after much thought and about 30 minutes dragging out coats, only 2 gloves (boy glove and a girl glove), shirts, about 6 pairs of socks, pants, scarves, and hats, I felt that I had enough apparel for my babies to stay warm and be incredibly uncomfortable!  By the time I got everyone suited up (Red had to pee... Shock!, and I was sweating profusely!), 20 minutes had gone by and we couldn't wait to play in the snow!!!!  Well, Red and I couldn't wait to get in the snow, the Bear was no it a fan of the stuff.

Some of my favorite men.....

are getting old!  Hooray for birthdays! This past month, I forgot to post pictures of my wonderful husband, Aron, and my fantastic daddy's birthday!  We celebrated their happy day with family, at my grandparents home.  My grandmother slaved on a delicious dinner and a black cherry trifle (amazeballs, I say)!  Girlfriend can cook up a meal (for this I cannot go over and visit everyday, I would eat them outta house and home and be 3000 pounds)!
Aron complimented Moss (that is what we call our grandmother) On her yummy salad, so for his birthday she gave him a bottle of Olive Garden salad dressing.... Everything tastes better with olive garden dressing y'all, go getcha a jar.
Anyways, happy birthday to some of my most precious men:-)

Memories....

Today, I drug out my old toy box.  Red and I had been playing Barbies, and I told her that I had some dollies when I was little and I had them in as secret place.  So, we opened up the box, and with it came many memories.....
First thing that was found.... My Ken doll, who obviously moonlights as a Chippendale's dancer!  I'm not sure what this outfit is, but there's a shiny silver tux jacket, silver cumperbund, and white pants held up by red stripe suspenders.... Isn't he dreamy!  I adore his hair!  Barbie sure had herself a catch!!
I got online to see if in fact there was a Chippendale Barbie collection (as if my mother would have ever purchased any of the collection:-) ) and it turns out this guy was from the Barbie and the Rockers!  I had a few of those!  Now I understand his rocker look!

My second lil treasure was actually a two-fer!  It was a New Kids on the Block single tape of a Christmas song, This One's For the Children......the children of the world!  I so remember this song and Jordan Knight singing in his high pitch voice, ....
many people are happy
Many people were sad
This ones for the children, and I'm so glad...
Ugh, their stuff was sooooo deep!
I also found a NKOTB pin!  Best day ever!!
Maybe, I will wear it to one of their upcoming concerts....
In case ya haven't heard... They're back!!
I am really wanting to go to one of their concerts in the summer,
Anyone.  Anyone??
Y'all they were so the thing.  Jon Knight was the only other guy I loved besides Kirk Cameron.... And that obvi didn't work out (since my dad never sent Kirk my fan mail asking if he had a girlfriend (like he would have replied yes or no) asking if he did not in fact have a certain someone, I was available (what?), and then ending with what's your favorite color and here's my number (bless my heart) remind me to thank my dad tomorrow, it was pitiful my puppy love for those two!)
Next, I came across a bajillion pieces to Barbie's Ice Cream Shop!  Dying!!  Did anyone else have this?  It really made ice cream, and those chairs doubled as the cups to hold your ice cream and Barbies bootie!  The coolest!!
The last piece of excitement was a love note... Torn into a bunch of teeny tiny pieces!  I guess my 5th grade self never thought about just throwing notes away, because my too much time on my hands 33 year old self would take 45 minutes to put it together!  Sad, I know!  I won't show it all put together for fear that someone would make fun off me begging this boy to be my boyfriend.  It was sad and sweet, if that's possible!
Needless to say, Mr Eugene never became my boyfriend:(  complete sadness!!  I never had a boyfriend.... ever, I had a crazy grill, brushed my curly hair, but my momma dressed me nice!

Anyways, this blast from the past has come to an end!  Did your parents keep any of your old treasures?  I'm so thrilled that mine did!

Old School Tutus for my Tiny Dancer

My Red is still going to her dance class every Wednesday!  Needless to say, she loves it so much and that makes me happy.  She will even perform in her first dance recital in June!!  Ya see, once upon a time....I too was a tiny dancer (okay it was the 80's but I was a ballerina!!!) Ha!
As if we do not already have enough princess dresses to play with, I thought it would be fun to break out some of my back in the day ballet costumes!  Red loves them and now wears them daily.  So thankful my momma kept all of my old things, thanks Momma!!!
